Symptoms
When polio is acquired, the first signs of it may appear with or as a fever, headache, nausea, fatigue, muscle pain, or muscle spasm ("Polio", Britannica). Non-paralytical polio can have symptoms listed as back pain, neck pain, muscle weakness, meningitis, as well as the symptoms mentioned previously. Less than 1% of those infected with the poliovirus have paralytical polio, but those individuals do suffer from loss of reflexes, severe muscle aches/weakness, loose & floppy limbs, often worse on only one side of the body ("Polio", Mayo Clinic).
